Finally managed to spare some time to watch some flicks this weekend.  Most of my friends are a little occupied this weekend with housewarming parties and a month-old celebration for the birth of some baby.  Both of which require some money spending.  Which is why I'm glad I don't have to go through with this.  Other friends are out of town and whatnot.  So that pretty much leaves me time to catch a few flicks.

Last night, I finally got to see the recent Hong Kong thriller "Murderer" starring Aaron Kwok.  I have read about how there are similarities between this movie and the other recent slasher flick "Orphan".  I disregarded such warnings until I finally sat down to watch "Murderer".  While there are some differences between this and "Orphan", the similarities really kick in at the mid-way point.  Aaron Kwok's moments of despair come effortlessly after starring in a slew of films like "Divergence", "The Detective" and etc.  The supporting cast including actors like Cheung Siu-Fai, & AnD's very own Josie Ho did great in their roles as well.  While this movie is flawed, it goes to show that Roy Chow Hin-Yeung may have a future in the film industry.

The other film I saw today was "Turtles Forever", a made for DVD film featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...of the 1987 animated series universe.  This is, without a doubt, the epic TMNT story that fans have been waiting for.  Basically, the 80s TMNT got into the 2k3 TMNT universe after a mishap at the Technodrome and were spotted on TV while fighting the Purple Dragon.  And the 2k3 turtles had to go rescue those turtles from Hun and his Purple Dragons.  Meanwhile, Shredder and Krang found the Shredder from the 2k3 universe and plans to ally themselves with him to rid themselves of the turtles.  Once awakened, Utrom Shredder plots to destroy the turtles once and for all by killing the source (the Mirage comics universe).  Otherwise known as the "Turtles Prime".  With a farfetched plot like this, you'd have to admit that there was bound to be plenty of quick remarks that criticize each of these TMNT series.  And that brought alot of chuckles.  I'd have to say that 4Kids has kinda exaggerated on the 80s turtles but they don't exactly go out of character either.  And I'm sure if you've been reading viewer opinions on "Turtles Forever", you might alreayd know by now how that scene where Hun gets agitated with 80s Raphael for breaking the fourth wall and talking to the viewers, was pretty damned funny.  And the best part is, Bebop and Rocksteady actually didn't screw up for once.  Yes, their comeback was a certainly welcomed change.

Well, apparently, I noticed my mom has that Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant poster on the wall.  I was wonderin' why she has it there.  Then she tells me that she is doing the clothes for the girls, the guests and the hosts for the show.  Right now, my mom just stepped out to meet up with actor Dominic Lam Ka-Wah for his costume fitting.  And if I remember correctly, their guest performer for this year is TVB actor/ fellow Donald Duck fanatic Kenneth Ma Gwok-Ming who's currently starring in the 41 episode drama "Born Rich" (the one that is airing on TVB right now).  I wouldn't be surprised if she had to do a costume fitting for him as well.  Not sure if I'll be attending the pageant next Friday.  But seeing how I will most likely be partying, I kinda doubt it.

Speaking of Donald Duck, have any of you seen Kenneth Ma's big-ass collection of Donald Duck related products?  It's insane!!!  And Donald Duck FTW!!!

Man, I just woke up from a nap earlier tonight.  The nap was well worth it especially after what I had gone through.  This morning, as I was getting to work, the TTC subway station between Bloor and Union was not in service due to an injury along the subway line.  I can only guess that someone has tried to jump off the railway tracks again.  That has caused a great delay for me to get to work.  Luckily, I had decided to transfer to the westbound train to St. George station and head back southbound from there.  I bumped into a drinking buddy of mine and I guided him to a shortcut for him to get to work.  Then I got a call from him later in the afternoon.  I had been told that the subways were not working from Bloor to Eglinton.  So I had to either take a shuttle bus to Eglinton Station or transfer eastbound to Pape station and take the bus to Don Mills station.  I chose the latter.  And guess how long that ride took me?  Normally, it would take less than 15 minutes to travel between Bloor and Eglinton station.  However, it took a duration of two hours for the whole ride.  Thankfully, the subway ride that came afterwards went by pretty quickly.  The Cummer bus came quickly as well and I was able to grab a good seat.

Just checked TTC official website and they say there is no disruption on the subway line.  So I guess it should be good by now.

Lemme describe the scenario as best as I can.  So I was basically walking along Yonge & College Street  to pick up a package.  This is where they filmed a big portion of that Edward Norton flick "The Incredible Hulk".  Yes, this means I have to walk past the Zanzibar (which, to many Torontonians, is well known as a strip joint.).  Some creep kept bugging bypassers for some change and cigarettes.  I tried to zip through the place as fast as I can but he managed to stop me and bug me for some change.  So this guy tells me that he is horny and wants to go to the Zanzibar for some good time.  Now, I was in a huge hurry and I really had to get going.  Dude puts his arms around my shoulders and starts talking about how times are tough and yadda yadda yadda.  (Yeah, I know.  I wasn't listening.)  So I let him talk and finish this as quickly as possible.  As soon as he removed his arms, I immediately cut him off and I just ran like hell.  And for further safety measures, I decided to walk across the street as I was heading back to Yonge & Queen.

Normally, I would never walk around that part of town.  But I didn't have a TTC Metropass so I didn't have that option.  It just gets so irritating when some bum keeps intruding your time.  They oughta get a life!  Seriously!

haha that's some deep material! but come to think about it.. I understand...

Many people in life cry because something beautiful has gone missing. People cry at the end of a relationship because it was something they cherished, people cry when someone passes away because they loved that person...
